Term	Definition
Kerb Weight	The weight of the complete vehicle and all equipment including fuel and water, but without the payload, driver or crew. All kerb weights quoted are subject to manufacturers tolerances, and are for vehicles with minimum equipment.
GVM	Gross Vehicle Mass - The total permissible all-up weight of a rigid vehicle. i.e. with body, payload, ancillaries, fuel, oil, water, driver and crew.
Payload Gross	Gross Vehicle Mass, less kerb weight.
Payload Net	Gross Vehicle Mass, less kerb weight, less allowance of 75kg for driver.
GTM	Gross Train Mass - The total permissible all-up weight of a rigid vehicle together with its trailer and load.
VDA - Volume	Verbund Die Automobil Industrie. Is determined by the number of one litre blocks (200 x 100 x 50mm) that can fit into the Load-space. The blocks are then counted, & the numerical results is converted into cubic metres.
SAE - Volume	The volume of fine grained material such as sand which can be deposited into the load-space.
